Starting from September, everyone around me in Avankia is fanatical about Dreamforce. So since I’m new to it, I wanted to check for myself what’s this all buzz about. And what follows are some important takeaways for every attendee. Spoiler alert, now I’m totally into Dreamforce groove too.
It’s all started in 2003 though not on the scale of today. The first Dreamforce had about 1300 attendees. The theme was “Imagination You Can Use.” The CEO Marc Benioff said, “It is the goal of salesforce.com to foster open communication between our customers, developers, and partners, to spark the imagination, creativity, innovation, and collaboration of the salesforce.com community and the software-as-service community as a whole”.
Over the past decade, Dreamforce has exploded to a mega-scale event but the essence remains the same. Nowadays it is a 4-day event and so far has about 170,000 registered. Innovation and connecting the user and developer community still remains in the heart of the event.
Career Transforming Sessions
There are 2700+ sessions spread across all roles and industries, open to attendees who can have access to cutting-edge, up-close, information and exposure to the latest products and solutions. There are also hands-on sessions by the experts which would give in-depth knowledge and valuable experience. The number of sessions is overwhelming and picking what to attend might be a tough exercise. Einstein is there to help and makes it easy to narrow down which sessions to attend by learning from historical Dreamforce data to deliver recommendations based on your unique interests. Dreamforce speakers are global leaders, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and thought leaders who will inspire us to new possibilities. This year’s list includes Michelle Obama, Marc Benioff, and Ashton Kutcher. Some of the key sessions that I am very excited about are:

I could understand the excitement and anxiety in my fellow Avankians! Dreamforce is totally worth its hype and a must-attend event of the year. It’s not just a trade show, but a massive gathering of Salesforce’s customers, partners and enthusiasts, the culmination of thought leadership and innovations, all celebrating the Salesforce ecosystem. The connections you can make here will go well beyond Dreamforce and last a lifetime.
